I’m finally getting around to posting the photos from this newborn session. Baby Ryan was a dream. He slept the whole time and was so agreeable to me posing him. We had a great time and perfect conditions for our photo shoot. I had a really hard time narrowing down my favorites for this newborn session.
I’ve know Ryan’s mom and dad for a while so I was thrilled when he made his arrival. These 2 are great parents and very stylish so of course we had lots of great locations and props to use for the session. We did the session right around 10 days which is my favorite window for newborn photos. Babies are a little older and they seem to settle a bit better and they usually have some of that adorable baby meat on them. It is my hope that Ryan is the first of many for this lovely family.
We did the session in the family’s home (in North Raleigh) which is my preference for newborn photos. I like to do a combination of lifestyle family photos as well as posed shots of the baby. I usually try to incorporate blankets, hats and other props into the photos that are unique and personal to the family. Ryan’s parents did an amazing job of decorating his nursery with furnishings from Restoration Hardware and Pottery Barn. They also incorporated some unique custom touches as well. I love photographing the family in their own personal environment and interacting with their new little one. As parents we forget to include ourselves in the newborn photos so it’s important to me to get mom and dad in the gallery. I’m so lucky to have so many clients with such great taste!
