This family is always a joy to photograph. They keep me laughing throughout the session and it’s always great to see a family that enjoys spending time together. We met up at the Raleigh Rose Garden in October for some fall family photos. The NC weather had different ideas about fall and it was 75 degrees but it made for a perfect backdrop among the roses.

I’m backed up on blogging and wanted to make sure I got the chance to share this 1 year session for sweet Lex. I can’t get enough of this little face! We met up in one of my favorite locations in the North Hills area. It’s got everything a 1 year old could need. Grass, water, sand and sticks. The weather was perfect for snapping shots in the water with mom and dad. Mom kept the wardrobe simple and I love seeing bare baby tummies. Happy birthday Lex!

I had so many wonderful families book my holiday mini sessions this past fall. I had a great time meeting all of these lovely individuals at one of my favorite new locations here in Raleigh. We photographed these around the beginning of November which is (in my opinion) the best time to capture the fall leaves. Typically here in NC fall peaks for photos towards the very end of October and beginning of November. I love living here in the Raleigh area, we have an early spring and late fall! Here
I’m playing catch up and trying to post photos from all of the wonderful holiday sessions I photographed this past fall.
Raleigh is full of great locations for photography. For these mini sessions we met at Fred Fletcher Park in Raleigh to capture some fun family portraits in the gorgeous fall weather. Fred Fletcher Park has a variety of backdrops and locations that make it a perfect selection for holiday photos. The park is a lovely place and used to be an orphanage before
This was my first time photographing the H. family and we had such a great time in Cary.
Veteran’s Freedom Park is a relatively new park in Cary off of Harrison Ave. I live fairly close by and I have admired it many times driving by and knew that it would make a great spot for family photos. It’s a beautiful monument to all of our nation’s veterans and has a lovely freedom tower at the center. There’s a great field by the monument that has some ideal light
I have enjoyed photographing this family ever since the birth of their first child. We had a great time taking family photos at the NC Museum of Art in Raleigh.
The NCMA, the North Carolina Museum of Art, is an amazing place to take photos. We all colloquially call it the “Art Museum”, but it’s more than that. It’s an actual campus of sorts with trails and gardens that make it a perfect backdrop for any kind of photo session. I’ve done family photos,
I always have a great time photographing this family. For our spring session we decided to shoot at American Tobacco in Durham NC for a fun urban look.
American Tobacco is great for families with kids. There are plenty of great spots for photos that are contained so that they can play around while I shoot. Boys really seem to like it since they can run and jump and do all things boy in a safe environment. It’s a terrific place in the winter months when more country like
I laughed my way through this family photo session in Durham, NC back in April. This family was so fun and laughing came easy to everyone.
Mom had contacted me a while back to set up a family photo session with her older kids. Schedules were difficult to nail down so it was a while before we managed to get everyone in one place. I am so glad that she persevered because I thought the session turned out great. As kids get older there are fewer occasions that require updated family
Despite the cloudy weather the B Family really shined in their bright bold colors. I loved how the wardrobe popped against the fall weather. We had a great time playing around the Raulston Arboretum here in Raleigh. I photographed both of these cutie pies as babies and I just can’t believe how much they’ve grown.
