Yates Mill, in Raleigh, is beautiful in the fall and I wanted to do some of my holiday sessions there this year. It seems like every year fall gets later and later, but we did get some great color in Ginny’s family session. You would never know by these photos that there were a zillion photographers running around and that that cute little 3 year old in the photos skipped a nap! He was such a trooper and did so great! Loved this session…

I have lived in Raleigh now for about 8 years and this was the first year I made it to the North Carolina State Fair. When my friend Summer said she wanted to do something different this year for the holiday photo, my first thought was “Let’s do the fair!” I’ve always wanted to shoot a session at the state fair and figured now was the time. The funny thing was that it was also my friend’s first time at the state fair. We had a great time and a wonderful session, although I learned a few
As a photographer here in Raleigh, the 2 most common questions I get asked are: “What kind of camera should I buy?” and “What lens should I get next for my dslr?”
Typically the kit lens that comes with your new dslr is an everyday mid wide zoom. It’s versatile for travel and basic photography, but the one thing that it’s lacking is a low aperture. I’m finally getting around to posting some of my favorite images from this year’s holiday sessions. I met the T family at Umstead Park for a quick photo session. 3 kids all under the age of 6 is a challenge, but these guys rocked it! They know how to turn on the charm for the camera, that is for sure!!! How adorable are they?
I had such a great time photographing this family. We got together in Raleigh at Nana’s house for family photos and photos of the kids. These 2 cousins are super close and so adorable together. We did a combination Halloween shoot and holiday shoot. All these adorable outfits are from Janie and Jack and worked so well for our photo shoot.
Janny is the sister of a dear friend of mine so I was very excited that she asked me to shoot her engagement photos. She just recently moved back from Ohio with her fiancee and they are planning a beach wedding here in North Carolina. For her engagement photos we planned a session at Pullen Park. We got so lucky with the weather, it was a typical beautiful fall day. This was the first time that I’ve ridden the carousel while taking photos and I’m not sure that I would recommend
