The one good thing about the last month of summer ending is FOOTBALL! Yes, football fans rejoice because the end of August means tailgating, team colors and hollerin’ at the TV or football field! I love doing all of the above, but there’s something I just LOVE about football food! It gives me an excuse to make homemade comfort food and share it with my friends and family. So for this post I’ve rounded up my favorite blogs/websites for tailgating foods and included a recipe of my own.
If you follow me on Instagram you know that I love to read and I frequently post what I’m #currently reading. It’s a great way of remembering what you’ve read and sharing that with others. Because of this I get asked for book recommendations quite a bit so I’ve decided to review them monthly here on my blog.
Here’s the latest round up:
Beautiful Ruins – A lot of people love this book, but for me I just didn’t take to it. Normally I love a flashback/present day novel, but for some
You may remember this lovely lady from her fall photos that I just recently posted on the blog. Shortly after our portrait session in the fall Erin found out that she was expecting baby #2! She is so excited and such a great mom to her daughter so I know this baby is coming into the perfect family. I had such a great time photographing her in her home in Apex. We took advantage of the rainy day and did a romantic, bohemian maternity session.
One of my favorite parts about summer is feasting on all the wonderful fresh produce. Peaches, tomatoes, corn I love it all. So that’s why this summer I was determined to learn how to can. Lucky for me Better Homes and Garden made this really simple. I picked up a copy of their yearly how-to canning magazine at my local grocer and seriously it covers everything you need to know as well as some great recipes.
Water bath canning is a lot easier than I thought and is really fun. I
I just love photographing Vivien! She is so spunky and fun and of course adorable. I loved chasing her all over historic Oak View park in Raleigh. We had a blast. I also love all the outfits that mom selected for her to wear. Late afternoon in Raleigh makes for perfect light for photographing kids. Here are my faves…
The end of August is approaching and you know what that means…a return to school for hundreds of kids. For us parents it means we spend the last couple of weeks scrambling to get school supplies and clothing. For a lot of us it also means a return to packing lunches. I don’t know about you, but I dread packing lunches. It gives me anxiety. It’s hard to find lunch ideas that are healthy, easy to prepare and cost efficient. I am by no means an expert lunch packer, but I wanted to share
Now that we’ve made it through the hottest months of the summer, it’s a great time to update your headshot! Is your social media profile photo looking a bit dated and old? Do you have totally different hair from the last time you changed it? Are you super tan and beautiful from your summer vacation?!? Well then look no further, I have just the special for you! For the entire month of August you can take advantage of my headshot special. Normally the fee is $125 but for Aug.
How cute is this little guy?!? I just love it when babies have a head full of hair! He was such a great little sleeper and subject. I had a great time photographing him and his family in their home in Durham.
